Royal Gorge

Old Post Card of Royal Gorge Suspention BridgeJoin a line of Porsches crossing America’s highest suspension bridge, drive along a breath-taking Hogback Ridge, and circumnavigate Pikes Peak, all in one day! This tour is centered on one of the region’s premier visitor attractions, the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Canon City, Colorado. Hanging above the wild Arkansas river, the Royal Gorge Bridge is a legendary feat of engineering that spans one of the deepest gorges in Colorado, a ten mile long canyon with granite walls towering over a thousand feet. We’ll begin our visit by parading our cars across the iconic bridge more than 950 feet above the river. We’ll get our pictures taken in mid-span, then you’re on your own to explore the Park at your leisure. Along with its spectacular scenery, the Royal Gorge Park offers a visitor center, a theater and historical expo, aerial gondolas, zip line rides, and even a “Royal Rush Skycoaster” free-fall dive over the Gorge for the adrenaline junkies.

Royal Gorge Suspension Bridge ColoradoAfter our visit to the Park we’ll make our way home by driving some of the more Porsche-friendly (and twisty!) portions of the Gold Belt Scenic Byway, a national scenic byway running through the region’s historic gold-mining country behind Pikes Peak. The portion of the Byway we’re taking follows the route that first connected the gold mines of the Cripple Creek district with the Arkansas Valley, and takes us through high mountain park lands with working cattle ranches and great views. Our high point (literally) will be Divide, Colorado at an elevation of 9,165 ft., then it’s down historic Ute Pass through Fountain Creek Canyon and back into Colorado Springs. Before returning to the event hotel we’ll swing by an artistic surprise. The Tour begins at 9:00am and returns to the hotel around 4:30pm. The Tour fee includes your admission to the Royal Gorge Park and a voucher for lunch at the Park’s Cafe 1230.
